Officials at SeaWorld announced three new attractions Tuesday in what will amount to the biggest expansion in the history of its Central Florida parks.
The new attractions will open over the next two years at SeaWorld Orlando and Discovery Cove.
The expansion at SeaWorld includes a high-tech turtle-centric exhibit called TurtlTrek and Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin, an up-close and interactive exhibit exploring the world of polar penguins. TurtleTrek will open in 2012 with Penguin set to open in 2013.
Meanwhile, at Discovery Cove, a new Freshwater Oasis attraction will allow adventurous visitors to wade into the tropical rainforest habitats of small animals like the Asian small-clawed otter beginning in 2012.
