Forget Dinner, Las Vegas Desserts Take the Cake: Top Places for Dessert in Las Vegas

This blog post was updated on October 11, 2018.

There is a never-ending selection of dining hot spots in Las Vegas. From the ranked and opulent restaurants serving some of the finest cuisine in the world, to the little shops serving a unique take on the hot dog, Las Vegas does food right.

But, sometimes it isn’t the main course to focus all of that attention on. Sometimes, it pays to skip the entrée and get straight to the party of sweet – the dessert.

The dessert options at most restaurants on The Strip feature the tried-and-true: the ice cream, cake, pies and country-specific delights.

But for those booking flights to Las Vegas who are looking to get a little extravagant, dessert can be far more than just the finish to an amazing meal. It can be the meal.

Max Brenner: Located in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, chocolate-lover and creator of phenomenal chocolate dishes, Max Brenner brings his brand to Las Vegas. His menu is large, particularly the dessert pages, and offers a huge variety of chocolate dishes. There are eight hot chocolate selections, including the Italian Thick Hot Chocolate with vanilla cream and a choice of white, dark or milk chocolate. For something a little spicier, try the Mexican Hot Chocolate, laced with red chili, nutmeg, cinnamon and pepper. The menu also includes chocktails and milkshakes; hearty desserts like chocolate chunk pizza; crepe brulee and sugar waffles; and chocolate fondue.

Serendipity 3: Also housed within the Caesars Palace property is Serendipity 3. Located just outside the hotel, Serendipity 3 is the Las Vegas installation of the popular New York eatery that’s been delighting guests for decades. Aside from entrees, Serendipity offers a bounty of playfully named desserts and decadent dishes like a $1000 sundae with topped with a gold leaf and made with Tahitian vanilla ice cream and more. Known for its Frrrozen Hot Chocolate, other desserts to tempt the taste buds include the Humble Pie made with creamy peanut butter and a graham cracker crust. There’s also Deep Fried Oreos and Ice Cream and other tastiness for sweet lovers.

Sugar Factory: Sure, it’s got a line of couture lollipops designed by celebs that grace the gossip rags regularly (hello, Kim Kardashian pop), but it’s also got an array of tasty candies in its Paris Las Vegas shop. After shopping for some take-home goodies, head to the Chocolate Lounge to grab a seat and have some fondue. A chocolate connoisseur guides guests through their fondue journey and can even pair the dessert with wine, champagne and liquor.

The Cupcakery: For a far less formal (read: take it up to your room) dessert, head to Monte Carlo Vegas to its Street of Dreams where The Cupcakery can be found. This cupcake shop first took the heart of Las Vegans with its Off-Strip location before it opened up in the heart of Las Vegas Blvd. It’s known for the Southern Belle, a red velvet cupcake topped with a cream cheese frosting, but it’s hard to go wrong with any of the offerings. These tasty morsels are some of the best little cakes in town and any selection, including its sugar-free cupcake, are a sugary sweet way to indulge after a meal.
