It’s nearly springtime, which means the weather in Las Vegas is about as close to perfect as it will be all year.
During the spring months in Las Vegas, the sun is out, the skies are blue, and the temperatures are ideal for spending time outside.
While dining options with outdoor seating aren’t as abundant as in other places, there are still plenty of great spots to find good eats (and drinks) while enjoying the pleasant spring atmosphere.
Those boarding flights to Las Vegas over the next few weeks should consider cuisine or cocktails at:
Morels French Steakhouse & Bistro at The Palazzo Las Vegas. This bistro has a patio that is elevated above Las Vegas Blvd. In the morning, the resort shadows the patio, making it a great spot for breakfast or brunch, complete with table side homemade Bloody Marys and a variety of delicious menu items. In the afternoon, the bar (which has an outdoor component) offers a special happy hour from noon to 6 p.m. with two-for-one-drinks. After nightfall, there’s the Sirens of TI show across the way, courtesy of Treasure Island. It comes complete with a performance and fireworks.
Mon Ami Gabi at Paris Las Vegas. This French restaurant has an expansive patio on Las Vegas Blvd and is always hopping. Brunch is a must at this spot, serving everything from hearty to deliciously sweet eats. This patio is also a prime place to stake out the Bellagio Fountains across the street. In the afternoon, grab a chilled French white wine and soak up the sun.
HYDE at Bellagio. The new venue opens in the evening for some light bites, followed later by a more clubby atmosphere. But, don’t miss this one. Set inside the elegant hotel, HYDE gets visitors up-close with a patio overlooking the fountains. Unlike Mon Ami, HYDE gives diners a truly unique perspective on this popular attraction.
Picasso at Bellagio. Like HYDE, Picasso gives guests a spectacular vantage point for the fountain performances. However, this renowned restaurant also serves up a complete menu by James Beard award-winning Chef Julian Serrano. It’s also the only AAA Five Diamond restaurant in Las Vegas to offer outdoor dining. With 16 tables, this patio is open year-round and offers heaters for chilly nights and misters for when the desert heat kicks in.
Nine Fine Irishmen at New York-New York. The Irish restaurant is smack on The Strip and provides not only great eats, but excellent people-watching. Located on the more raucous part of Las Vegas Blvd., the passersby are enough to entertain should the conversation get boring. Plus, sitting outside on a 75-degree afternoon with a cider is what vacations are all about!
