Summer in the City of Lights can get downright steamy. One of my favorite ways to beat the heat is to grab a sweet, decadent treat. Here are my top five places to get ice cream on a balmy afternoon in Paris.
Maison Berthillon
A true Parisian institution, Maison Berthillon serves up decadent ice creams and sorbets in cones, cups or larger to-go containers, featuring flavors like coconut, Calvados, and pistachio. The Rue Saint-Louis en l’Ile location isn’t the only one in Paris, but it certainly is the most iconic.

Amorino
Known for their attractive gelato “flowers”, in which several flavors of gelato are artfully arranged on top of a cone, Amorino features all-natural gelato in decadent flavors like the popular Amarena (candied cherries in vanilla custard). If a cone is not your style, you can also get milkshakes and other sweet treats here.

Le Bac à Glaces
This charming glacier is known for its artisanal, all-natural ice creams and sorbets. The flavors rotate frequently and the staff is friendly and helpful. I suggest trying their avocado ice cream for an unexpected treat.

Pascal le Glacier
This upscale neighborhood glacier boasts a sleek shop and a variety of gourmet ice cream flavors such as chocolate with candied orange peel, “Mexican chocolate” (chocolate and cinnamon), and vanilla cherry.
17, rue Bois-le-Vent
Maison Kayser
Maison Kayser may be a boulangerie, but don’t let that fool you. They also sell some of the tastiest ice creams and sorbets in the city. Come for the rich, satisfying ice cream and leave with a couple of fresh baguettes for dinner.
