Stella Jones Art Gallery

One of New Orleans’s premier art galleries, Stella Jones Art Gallery features pieces in a variety of media by renowned artists of the African diaspora. The gallery is committed to education, and fulfills its educational goals through lectures, panel discussions, gallery talks and exhibitions with artists in residence. Stella Jones Art Gallery also reaches out to local African American youth and provides them with educational opportunities to expand their knowledge of African and diasporic art.
New Orleans Museum of Art

New Orleans’s oldest fine arts institution, The New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA), was founded in 2011. This historic museum hosts an impressive permanent collection of close to 40,000 objects. The museum’s collection is known for its French and American art, photography, glass, and African and Japanese collections. Not to be missed is the five-acre Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden, one of the most famous sculpture installations in the United States. It boasts over 60 sculptures located amongst winding walking paths, ponds, 200-year-old oaks, pines, magnolias, camellias, and footbridges.

Part of the University of New Orleans, the Odgen Museum is committed to broadening the knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the visual arts and culture of the American South. In fulfillment of this goal, the museum collects, conserves and displays art that illuminates the region’s history and culture. The Ogden Museum has an impressive permanent collection, ad well as changing exhibitions that feature a wide variety of historic and contemporary works by Southern artists.
