There is much to love about France’s capital city, Paris. As the saying goes, “Paris is for lovers” – food lovers, history lovers, and, of course, art lovers. Here are my recommendations for when you’ve already seen Le Musée d’Orsay and the Louvre.
Le Musée Picasso

Le Musée Picasso is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon in Paris. A beautifully curated museum, it is located in the historic Marais quartier. As its name indicates, the entire museum is devoted to Picasso’s masterpieces and the life of the artist himself. Over the years, the museum has amassed a very diverse collection of several thousand of the master’s sculptures, paintings, engravings, and sketches. The exhibits also include biographical information about Picasso and his family. Be sure to stop by the bookstore to grab a unique souvenir. The café, with outdoor seating, is a lovely place to sit an enjoy a citron pressé (French lemonade).
Musée Rodin

Not to be missed, Le Musée Rodin is located in the former home of the sculptor himself, not far from the Eiffel Tower. Today, the 18th-century mansion and surrounding gardens are full of Rodin’s sketches and sculptures, including his iconic piece “Le Penseur” (“The Thinker”). If you’re looking for postcards that are a bit out of the ordinary, the museum shop carries a nice selection. The museum café is a wonderful place to grab a light bite to eat before heading back out onto the Parisian streets.
Musée du Quai Branly

Musée du quai Branly, Paris’ museum of ethnic art, opened in 2006. It houses the French government’s stunning collection of traditional art and artifacts from African and Oceana. Renowned French architect Jean Nouvel designed the museum complex, which is comprised of 4 buildings. Be sure to take a walk through the unique gardens (with LED light straw formations throughough) and, if you’re feeling peckish, stop for a bite to eat at the museum restaurant, Les Ombres.
