Drink in Knowing Style at London’s Hakkasan and Sake No Hana

This blog post was updated on October 8, 2018.

Beyond the fabulous settings and fantastic food, two of the Hakkasan Group’s best Asian fine dining restaurants in London will run a new series of cocktail and spirit masterclasses this summer. The two restaurants are the original Hakkasan restaurant at Hanway Place and the modern Japanese restaurant, Sake No Hana, situated just off Piccadilly in Mayfair. The “Straight Up” classes will be informative and fun, offering an exclusive opportunity to learn a variety of spirits and brush up on your cocktail making skills.

Hosted by Hakkasan Group’s leading in-house mixologists along with global drinks ambassadors for Hendrick’s Gin, Glenfiddich and Suntory whisky, guests will be given the chance to tap into the insight of the drinks ambassadors and to take in an up close and personal view of the expert bartenders in action. “Straight Up” themes include gin; single malt whisky; Japanese whisky and ice carving; margarita and daiquiri variations; and Americano and negroni cocktails and variations.

Priced at £30 (about $45) per person, the classes will take place on Saturday afternoons at Hakkasan Hanway Place and Tuesday evenings at Sake No Hana. Following each class, guests will be welcomed to extend their stay and choose to dine a la carte or sample the restaurants’ signature set menus: the Taste of Hakkasan menu (£28 per person for two courses) and the Taste of Sake no Hana menu (£29 per person for four courses) for an ample sample of the establishments’ most celebrated dishes.

In addition to the “Straight Up” classes, Sake No Hana will offer a series of Introduction to Sake classes. Hosted by Christine Parkinson, Head Wine Buyer for the Hakkasan Group, and Anthony Rose, a well-known wine guru, the half-day classes will introduce guests to the flavours, history and unique customs associated with Japanese rice wine. The classes will include a Taste of Sake No Hana lunch along with a gift bag with a bottle of premium sake and more. The price for the Introduction to Sake classes is £60 per person.
