5 Unique Amusement Parks Around The World

This blog post was updated on July 21, 2021.

Nothing says summer vacation fun like taking your kids (or yourself) to an amusement park for the day. There are unique amusement parks to be found all over the world. Here are five you should definitely check out with your young globetrotters.

Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise (Japan)
Perfect for kids who love all things sea-related, Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise features thrilling rides, a huge aquarium (rated one of the best in Japan) and over 500 varieties of fish. Located on the picturesque Yokohama Bay, it is also home to Japan’s first “surf coaster” – a thrilling rollercoaster that swings out over the ocean.

Efteling (Netherlands)
A decidedly charming theme park, Efteling is also impressively large (more than twice the size of Disneyland California) and full of enchanting rides and activities. All of the park’s attractions are based on elements from ancient European legends, fairytales, fables and folklore that are sure to delight kids of all ages.

Suoi Tien Amusement Park (Vietnam)
Head to Vietnam to experience the world’s only Buddhist theme park. Established in 1995, Suoi Tien recently underwent a $1 trillion expansion to keep up with increased tourism. Children will be captivated by the giant waterfall shaped like an emperor’s face and dazzled by the multi-color phoenixes and smiling Buddha statues. There are plenty of activities to keep young visitors entertained for an entire day.

Tivoli (Denmark)
The second oldest amusement park in the world, Tivoli Gardens in Denmark features an array of rides and entertainment. Tivoli has three outdoor stages that host live concerts multiple times daily. When you’re finished enjoying the musical entertainment, check out Tivoli’s famous rides like the Golden Tower, Vertigo, or the historic wooden rollercoaster (updated for safety and aesthetic purposes) that celebrated its 100th birthday this year!

Everland (South Korea)
South Korea’s largest amusement park, Everland is home to a variety of wild rides and even a safari area featuring lions, tigers and bears (oh my!). For a change of pace, head to the water park surrounded by beautiful, lush gardens.
