New York City is launching a new way to preach pedestrian safety: through the art of Haiku. The city will post hundreds of Haikus around the city as part of its new “Curbside Haiku” program.
Each three line poem (following the five-seven-five syllable format) is accompanied by a thematic graphic representing its content.
All of the poems and graphics were created by New York artist John Morse.
Travelers hitting up the Big Apple should expect to see the signs popping up over the next couple of weeks. For a sneak peak, check out a full write-up on the program at TransportationNation.org.
