Florida is already home to a number of world famous theme parks. Soon it may be home to one more.
Game Nation, which is being billed as the world’s first video game theme park, is reportedly eyeing Florida as possible destination for construction.
It should come as no surprise that founders are interested in building the experimental park in Florida. The state’s climate is conducive to year-round tourism and the Sunshine State is home to a handful of international airports, making it one of the most accessible states in the country.
In addition, a number of new theme parks, including the fantasy-oriented Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando, have proven wildly successful in Florida in recent years.
Video game nerds shouldn’t get their pocket-protectors in a bunch just yet. Though planners seem to be zeroing in on a location and a new partnership with Atari was recently announced, it will still likely be a few years before the park is anywhere close to operational.
