President Barack Obama has announced a plan which will relax travel restrictions to Cuba.

The new plan will allow church groups traveling for religious reasons and students seeking academic credit to visit the communist nation.

In addition, more airports will be able to offer chartered flight to Cuba.

Right now, only three airports in Miami, New York, and Los Angeles can offer charted flights to the island nation.

Under the Obama plan, any international airport with adequate customs and immigration facilities will be able to offer charter flights, as long as licensed travel agencies gain approval.

The new changes come a year after the Obama administration eased other Cuban policies, allowing Cuban-Americans to visit family members and send money to Cuban relatives.
