Medellin, officially known as the Municipality of Medellin, is the capital
of the department of Antioquia. The second-largest city in Colombia,
Medellin is centrally situated in Aburra Valley which is a centrally
located region in the Andes Mountains in the South America. The city today
features almost 40 museums, 21 public parks, 28 theaters, and quite a lot
of public libraries- a fact that led The Wall Street Journal honor it the
Innovative City of the Year in 2013.

Museum of Antioquia
Museum of Antioquia, a world-glass art museum in Medellin, was the first
museum in Antioquia department and the second in Colombia. This museum
boasts an excellent collection of artworks by local artists, besides 17
rooms full of artifacts of pre-Columbian and colonial era and numerous 19th
century painting and photographs.
Arvi Park
Arví Park is an ecological nature preserve and a pre-Hispanic archeological
site across many municipalities including Medellin. This park features
thick forests and walkable trails that run along constituents of
wildflowers and rare plant species.
Park of Bolivar
Park of Bolivar is an urban park named in honor of national hero Simon
Bolivar. Inaugurated in 1892, this park features about 100-year-old statue
of Bolivar. Visitors can attend a traditional Sunday open-air concert on
the first three Sundays of every month.
Best Time to Visit Medellin
Weather-wise, the best time to book flights from Boston to Medellin is from
June to August. During these months, the climate of the city is pleasant
for sightseeing. If booking for the peak season, it is advisable to book
Medellin flights well in advance to avoid paying increased airfares.
