Dekhistan
Dekhistan is in the western part of Turkmenistan near the Caspian Sea. The
city is in the Misrian Valley featuring one of the most unique topographies
in the Central Asia. Dekhistan is home to beautiful towers of ancient
settlements and centuries-old monuments. The city is also home to one of
the most ancient mosques of early Islamic period- Shir-Kabir Mosque.
Sarakhs
An oasis town located in Ahal province, Sarakhs was an important oasis on
the Silk Road. The most popular attraction in the city is the mausoleum of
Sufi Abul Faz also revered as Sarakhs Baba. The city is also home to the
burial site of Sheikh Ahmed Al Khady.
Best Time to Visit Turkmenistan
Weather-wise, the best time to book Turkmenistan flights is between the months of March to June and then again from the months between September and November. Other months are either too hot or too cold. It is advisable to book tickets in advance to get cheap flights to Turkmenistan as airfare tends to rise during peak season.
