The museum features interactive displays, multimedia programs, high-tech exhibits, and a reproduction of the White House as it used to look in 1861. Items from the Lincoln Collection are displayed in the Museum’s Treasures Gallery on a rotating basis and include the evening gloves in President Lincoln's pocket the night he was assassinated, the quill pen used to sign the Emancipation Proclamation, and an original hand-written copy of the Gettysburg Address.
Dana-Thomas House
Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, the Dana-Thomas House is amongst the most lavish and unique structures of early Prairie period. The home was constructed for Susan Lawrence Dana, a Springfield socialite. Here are more than 100 pieces of oak furniture designed by Wright, around 250 art glass light fixtures & lamps. The gallery/ballroom and the barrel-vaulted dining room are most photographed spaces in the history of American architecture.
