Doha
Capital of Qatar, Doha, is a modern port city on Doha Bay. While here,
Visitors can ride a camel, have brunch in an elegant palace, sunbathe on
Gulf’s most luxurious beaches, and enjoy a night of clubbing at some of the
world’s most high-end nightclubs, all in a day’s work. The rapidly growing
metropolis is lined with skyscrapers. Doha’s waterfront is marked by
multiple parks and Corniche Promenade. Visitors can take a walk along the
promenade to enjoy the beautiful sights of Doha Bay and unwind at the many
chic cafes and eateries here. The city’s historic legacy is reflected in
several structures, such as the iconic desert fort of Al Zubarah, Doha Fort
(Al Koot Fort), and the Barzan Towers. Doha is lined with several

Al Khor
A coastal city in northern Qatar, Al Khor is situated 50 kilometres north
of Doha. The capital of the municipality of Al Khor, the city is among the
major cities in Qatar. Tourism in the region has shot up in recent years
due to the municipality's various natural areas, resorts, and cultural
attractions. Al Khor has a number of landmarks for the tourists to explore.
The Al Khor Park encompasses vast gardens, a miniature golf course, tree
lined pathways, and a train. The city is lined with a wide range of mosques
- from historic to modern. Al Khor has numerous beaches in close proximity
and three watchtowers line the city’s shoreline. Al Khor Island (Purple
Island) is located nearby and is an ideal picnic spot. History lovers can
explore the Al Khor Archaeological Museum, which houses artefacts from
across the region. Al Khor city is among the proposed venues for the 2022
FIFA World Cup.
Dukhan
Located in western Qatar, in the municipality of Al-Shahaniya, Dukhan is
roughly 80 kilometres west of Doha. The city is the site of the first oil
discovery in the country and is administered by Qatar Petroleum (Qatar's
state oil agency). The modern city of Dukhan developed from the main oil
camp and offshoot settlements which were established during the 20th century. Visitors here can explore the town’s historic
landmarks such as the Al Khotba Mosque which is known for its ornate
decorative elements. The 18th century Zekreet Fort offers great
views from its four watchtowers. Nature lovers can head over to the mearby
Al Reem Biosphere Reserve which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Beach
buffs can spend their days relaxing at the Dukhan Beach. Dukhan Water
Sports club offers services such as jet skiing, powerboat sports, and
windsurfing.
