Minocqua is a town in northwestern Oneida County in Wisconsin, United States. This forested lake community is known as ‘the Island City’ because it has one of the world’s largest concentrations of fresh water bodies, and this reputation is amplified by scenic backdrops and water activities. Water sports enthusiasts find it a haven of hiking, fishing, camping, boating and bike riding during summers and that of Nordic skiing, ice fishing, snow tubing, sleigh rides and snowmobiling during winters. Minocqua is at its royal best during the Independence Day parade on 4th July every year, and marks a compelling case for itself with its numerous live events that revolve around dancing, live music, fireworks.
Lake TomahawkLocated less than 10 miles away from Minocqua and known as the Queen of the Northwoods Lake, the Lake Tomahawk is scenically situated in the American Legion State Forest. Ahead of some exotic wildlife, other star attractions here include hiking and snowmobile trails, lakes and beaches.
Arbor VitaeLocated about five miles from Minocqua, Arbor Vitae is a late 19th century town. It is best known for its ‘Annual Arbor Vitae Firemen’s Picnic and Summerfest’ festival that offers a 360-degree experience with the cultural heritage of the town through its classic offerings like a Milk Jug Regatta, Lawn Mower Races, Car Show, Firehose Fights and a stunning show of music and fireworks.
The Bearskin State TrailThe Bearskin State Trail is a part of the Wisconsin State Park system. One of the most scenic rail trails in northern Wisconsin, it runs through a picturesque forest dotted with pine, spruce, oak, maple, elm and birch trees. You would find it just the place where nature kisses beauty in full glory- as is evinced from a small hill, some lakes, creeks, natural springs, several spruce bogs, plenty of harmless wildlife and an 18 mile corridor that runs through some historical sites and a late-19th century railway line.
