A census designated place on Annette Island in Prince of Wales-Hyder Census Area in the US state of Alaska, Metlakatla is located in the Inside Passage, somewhat 15 miles south of Ketchikan Island. This area is the only settlement of the indigenous Tsimshian people in the country. Visitors can reach this area by plane or ferry from Ketchikan. Metlakatla Longhouse
The most famous tourist attraction in Metakatla, Metlakatla Longhouse offers visitors to take in dance and singing performances by the local Tsimshian dancers. The longhouse faces Metlakatla's boat harbor. Inside Metlakatla Longhouse visitors can see old Tsimshian artifacts put on display. Guests can also experience the nearly extinct Sm'algyax language through the performances of the tribal people.
The Deer Mountain Hatchery and Eagle Center

The Eagle Center is a rehabilitation center that takes care of injured bald eagles and other birds found in the area. The Deer Mountain Hatchery and Eagle Center offers guided and narrated tours of the Hatchery facility and the Eagle Compound. The center remains open from late April to the middle of September.
