Yukon Delta National Wildlife Refuge
A United States National Wildlife Refuge spread in an area of around 19.16 million acres in southwestern Alaska, Yukon Delta National Wildlife Refuge is the second-largest National Wildlife Refuge in the country. Landscape of the park includes a coastal plain ranging to the Bering Sea. Yukon Delta National Wildlife Refuge boasts about 35 villages and around 25,000 people. The coastal area of the park bordering the sea is a wealthy and productive wildlife habitat that supports one of the largest concentrations of water fowl around the world. There are more than a million ducks and around half a million geese using this refuge for breeding purposes every year. The area features huge seasonal concentrations of loons, northern pintails, cranes, swans, and grebes. During winters, the waters of Yukon Delta National Wildlife Refuge becomes home to a number of seals, walruses, beluga, porpoises, and minke whales.
Yukon River
