Kuwait City
Kuwait City is the capital of Kuwait. The city is known for boasting scores
of architecturally beautiful buildings. Located in the center of the city,
the Grand Mosque is famous for its lovely interior and chandeliered dome.
The late-19th-century Seif Palace, located on the waterfront, is home to a
neo-Arabic watchtower and several manicured gardens. An excellent place to
visit for history lovers, the Kuwait National Museum explores history and
showcases science shows at its planetarium. Shopaholics can visit Souk
Al-Mubarakiya, a vast food and handicraft market. The modern skyline of the
city includes the multiple Kuwait Towers and the needle-like Liberation
Tower. The Scientific Center puts on display science-related exhibits and
an aquarium. In front of the Science Center is Dhow Harbor featuring
traditional sailing vessels. History lovers can visit Tareq Rajab Museum,
devoted to Islamic artifacts, and Kuwait House of National Works Museum,
commemorating the 1990 -1991 Gulf War.
Failaka Island
Failaka, a Kuwaiti island in the Persian Gulf, is 20 km off the coast of
Kuwait City in the Persian Gulf. The island is developing a local tourist
industry and provide facilities for fishing, boating, swimming, sailing and
water sports.
Salmiya
Salmiya is a city located in Hawalli Governorate in Kuwait. The city is
administratively divided into 12 blocks. The blocks that are located closer
to the interior of the district are mostly residential while the blocks
located beside the Persian Gulf coastline feature a heap of commercial and
upscale residential real estate. The traditional buildings in the city are
its primary tourist attractions offering photographers to click their
uniqueness.
