Grand Cayman Island
The largest of Cayman Islands, Grand Cayman is a place a nature lover must
visit on his/her tour to Cayman Islands. The island boasts a major port and
ruins of colonial era. The island's hallmarks include beautiful beaches and
vibrant coral reefs. The beaches of the island feature gentle waters, shady
trees, along with shops, bars, and restaurants. There are several diving
spots available at these beaches. The old-growth forest on Grand Cayman is
home to a wide range of native plants and animals.
George Town
George Town is the capital of the Cayman Islands. The city is in the west
of the Grand Cayman Island. George Town is the financial hub of the
country. There are several tax-free shops around Cardinal Avenue. While
here, visitors can do and see plenty of things. An excellent place to visit
for history buffs, the Cayman Islands National Museum is in a 19th-century
building on Harbour Drive. The museum puts on display the exhibits on local
history, wildlife, and culture. Several waterfront bars and restaurants are
located across North Church Street and South Church Street. Seven Mile
Beach is a palm-lined beach boasting scores of upscale resorts, stretches
north of the city toward West Bay. Seven Mile Beach is famed for its
crystal-clear waters and water-sports. There are many dive sites near the
beach. Tourists can enjoy snorkeling at a shallow sandbar known as Stingray
City, where southern stingrays gather around.
West Bay
West Bay is a district in the west of the Grand Cayman Island in the
British West Indies. West Bay features many tourist attractions including
Cayman Turtle Farm, Hell, Dolphin Adventure, and Cayman Motor Museum. The
district boasts a public beach with bathrooms and changing rooms available
to the public.
