Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute
The Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute is a gem from both inside and outside. It is housed inside a windowless bronze and black Canadian granite building built in International style in 1960. On its inside, it features more than 25000 American and European paintings and decorative arts dating back to 18th century. The institute is flanked by a Victorian-era Italianate mansion called Fountain Elms, which is home to another superb collection of decorative artworks.

The Utica Marsh Wildlife Management Area is a wetland area shared by Utica between the Mohawk River and the New York State Barge Canal. It has observation towers, platforms, walking and bike trails, water control dikes and boating facilities.
