Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple
The Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple is the largest Hindu temple in the Southern hemisphere, located in Nadi, Fiji. This temple is a classic example of Dravidian architecture as can be seen from its façade and colorful appearance - both inside and outside. The wooden carvings and idols kept inside this holy temple were flown-in from India. This temple was built by a strict observance of the Vastu Vedic tradition.
Kula Eco Park
Kula Eco Park is an ecological preserve located on Fiji's largest island, Viti Levu. A winner of Fiji's 'Excellence in Tourism' award five times since 1996, this park started-off as a bird sanctuary in the 1980s and now features a remarkable range of native flora and fauna. The park is full of reptiles, birds, amphibians, butterflies and tropical fish. Some popular attractions here include the Fiji flying fox, nocturnal insects and a wide range of trees and shrubs. Also of note here is an elaborate system of pathways and alleys running all through its perimeter and offering superb panoramic views of the surroundings.
Nadi Garden of the Sleeping Giant
The Nadi Garden of the Sleeping Giant in Nadi is home to several beautiful native and exotic plants. Visitors to this garden can take a walk through its trails, admiring the presence and beauty of more than 2000 varieties of Asian orchids and Cattleya hybrids. The Nadi Garden of the Sleeping Giant was designed as the private collection of tropical orchids of Canadian actor Raymond Burr. It has now graduated to a new level involving a canopy-covered boardwalk, green and brown landscaped lawns, lily ponds, small fountains and a typical rainforest - something that can be best experienced during a walk on an early morning.
Mamanuca Islands
Located a short boat trip away from the Nadi International Airport, the Mamanuca Islands are a volcanic archipelago near Nadi in Pacific Ocean. These volcanic islands are a delightful sum of about 20 islands. Though six or seven of these islands are often covered by the high tides of the ocean. Mamanuca Islands are characterized by crystal clear waters, live coral reefs and golden white sandy beaches that are dotted with palm trees. Visitors can sunbathe, swim and snorkel here to their heart’s content.
