National Museum of Indonesia

Opened in 1868, the National Museum of Indonesia is home to a remarkable collection of prehistoric, ethnographic and archaeological artifacts spanning Indonesia’s history. Quantitatively put, it amounts to 61600 prehistoric and anthropological artifacts and 5000 archeological artifacts from all over Asia. This iconic museum is home to the world’s largest collection of Hindu-Buddhist art of ancient Indonesia and one of the world's largest collections of Southeast Asian ceramics and Hindu Javanese art. The National Museum of Indonesia has a 19th century bronze statue of an elephant, which is also called the Elephant Building (or Gedung Gajah).

National Monument

The National Monument is a 433 feet high tower in the centre of Merdeka Square in Jakarta. Completed in 1975, this skyscraper was built to commemorate the struggle for Indonesian independence. It consists of a 385 feet high obelisk planted on a 55 feet high platform. The obelisk itself is clad with Italian marble and topped by a flame covered with gold foil. The National Museum also features Indonesian National History Museum. It is home to 51 dioramas related to various symbols of independence. An impossible to miss attraction here is the original text of the Proclamation of Independence that is stored in a glass case inside a bronze golden door.

Taman Impian Jaya Ancol (or Ancol Dreamland)

Ancol Dreamland is a part of a popular resort destination called Ancol Bay City, located along Jakarta's waterfront in Ancol Kelurahan, Indonesia. This more than 50-year old fun zone is currently the largest integrated tourism area in South East Asia and consists of a theme park with 27 rides at Fantasy World, 8 pools at Atlantis Water Adventure and 8 shows at Ocean Dream Samudra. It is best known for its seaside theme park called Dunia Fantasi, which is divided into eight regions including Asia, Africa, America, Europe, and Legendary Fantasy region where Ancient Greece and Ancient Egypt architectural is on show.

Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (or Beautiful Indonesia Miniature Park)

Taman Mini Indonesia Indah is a lakeside recreational park in Jakarta that focuses on all salient aspects of Indonesian culture. This park offers a colorful representation related to the daily life in all national provinces, segregated in separate pavilions and filled with architecture, traditional attires and traditions. Taman Mini Indonesia Indah also includes 14 museums, 3 theatres (including an IMAX Theater), 11 gardens and parks and several cable cars.
