  • Beylerbeyi Palace

Beylerleyi Palace was built between 1861 and 1865 as an Imperial Ottoman summer residence and forum to entertain visiting heads of state. It lies just north of the Bosphorus Bridge which spans the Bosphorus Strait, connecting the continents of Europe and Asia. The building is comprised of three floors and 26 rooms, each intricately decorated with Bohemian chandeliers, valuable tiles, and ceramic vases. The Palace’s original furniture, curtains, and carpets have all been remarkably well-preserved. Guests can tour the beautiful palace every day except for Mondays and Thursdays.
  • Istanbul

Istanbul is the unrivaled cultural, economic, and financial center of Turkey. With a population of 13 million, this capital city is the largest in Turkey and the fifth-largest in the world. During its long history, Istanbul served as the capital of many empires, including the Roman Empire, the Byzantine Empire, the Latin Empire, and the Ottoman Empire. Perhaps no other city in the world can match the history offered by this jewel of the Middle East. While Istanbul embraces its past, it also showcases its future, hosting modern transportation systems, first-class restaurants, state-of-the-art sports venues, and a vibrant nightlife.
  • Hagia Sophia

Perhaps no other structure in Istanbul showcases the city’s varied history better than Hagia Sophia. Two churches originally built on the site burned down in the 4th Century and Hagia Sophia as it appears today was built in the 6th Century under Emperor Justinian. This church turned mosque turned museum has stood its ground for centuries, welcoming worshipers of different faiths at different times over its thousand plus year history. Now, the secularized building serves as a museum; a testament to Istanbul’s rich and diverse history. Each day, thousands of visitors marvel at its massive dome, breathtaking mosaics, and grand collection of holy relics. The museum is open daily and remains one of Istanbul’s most visited sites.
  • Maiden's Tower

Like many of Istanbul’s most famous landmarks, Maiden Tower is a modernized attraction steeped in rich military history. The tower was first built by the ancient Athenian general Alcibiades in 408 BC and originally designed to control the movements of Persian ships on the Bosphorus Strait. The tower was later used as a lighthouse for several centuries. Today, it hosts a popular café and restaurant with excellent views of Istanbul. Located just offshore, private boats make trips to and from the island several times per day.
  • Yerebatan Palace Cistern

The Yerbetan Cistern is the largest of several hundred cisterns that lie beneath the city of Istanbul. This massive underground chamber was built during the reign of Byzantine Emperor Justinian I in the 6th Century. It was used to collect and store water for the Great Palace and other nearby buildings. The massive cistern covers an impressive 2.4 acres and can hold over 21 million gallons of water. The immense underground cavern is supported by 336 meticulously placed and ornately carved marble columns. Today, visitors can spend up to an hour exploring the beautiful underworld while enjoying atmospheric lighting and soft music.
